Eucerin Photoaging Control Sun Lotion

I would like to introduce you to the new Eucerin Photoaging Control Sun Lotion Extra Light SPF 50+ which protects the delicate areas of the body such as décolletage, shoulders, neck and arms that are exposed to the sun everyday. The extra light formulation further contains Hyaluronic Acid for visibly younger looking skin. I’m a huge fan of Eucerin’s sunscreens, they always feel light on my skin, they don’t leave any white residue or sticky feeling and they are suitable for my sensitive skin.

No matter the weather it is always important to wear sunscreen daily and reapply it throughout the day to help prevent sunburn. UV rays can penetrate the skin that can lead to sunburn and directly damaging the cellular DNA, in the worse cases this could possibly cause skin disease or even skin cancer. Overexposure to the sun is the main reason for photoaging which is premature skin aging caused by UV rays. UVA rays are able to penetrate deeper layers of the skin damaging skin cells and breaking down collagen and elastin which are important for plumped up and smooth skin. As a result, wrinkles can form, the skin loses volume and is affected by hyperpigmentation prematurely.

Eucerin’s new Photoaging Control Sun Lotion takes sun protection to the next level. When it comes to sun protection this formula goes a step further, including more than just UV filters. The new Advanced Spectral Technology combines UVA/UVB protection and High-Energy Visible (HEVIS) Light defence. To provide a powerful HEVIS Light defence, the formula contains anti-oxidative Licochalcone A which helps to neutralise free radicals and thus to prevent photoaging. The formula also contains Glycyrrhetinic Acid which supports the skin’s own DNA repair mechanism. Furthermore, the light feeling lotion has been enriched with a combination of both short- and long-chain Hyaluronic Acid. The long chain version remains on the skin’s surface, providing it with moisture and leaving it feeling smooth, while the short-chain Hyaluronic Acid penetrates deeper. Thanks to this combination, the skin’s appearance is improved, and it is protected against photoaging in the best possible way.

Many of us don’t like to wear sunscreen as it can often feel sticky and leave behind a white residue on dark skin tones, I know with my medium skin tone there has been many times where sunscreen makes me look grey and zombie-like because of the white residue. Eucerin has addressed this concern with the launch of the new Eucerin Photoaging Control Sun Lotion Extra Light SPF 50+. The lotion has a light, non-sticky and fast absorbing formula. It also moisturisers dehydrated skin, visibly reduces signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles, and meets all requirements for protecting the skin, especially the décolletage, arms, shoulders and neck.

The Photoaging Control Sun Lotion comes in a white and orange box, the orange colour is what differentiates the sunscreen range from Eucerin’s other skincare ranges. Enclosed is a curvy 150ml bottle with an orange flip cap that is not flimsy and won’t break, safely securing the product in so it can be popped into your handbag, gym bag, travel bag or beach bag so that you can reapply it throughout the day without worrying about it taking up too much space and opening up and messing in your bag. The Sun Lotion is white in colour, has a slight pleasant floral scent that is not overwhelming and does not irritate my sensitive skin, it has a soft, smooth, creamy but light texture, it doesn’t have a very thick or too thin and runny consistency, it spreads easily and absorbs quickly without leaving behind a white residue, sticky feeling and any oiliness. The sunscreen leaves my skin feeling hydrated, soft and smooth with a beautiful glow.

The sun has been very harsh lately that I can literally feel it burning my skin when I’m outside and have forgotten to apply on sunscreen but after applying on the Eucerin Photoaging Control Sun Lotion I can feel that it has created a barrier on my skin protecting it against the harmful UV rays. The Sun Lotion is also water resistant so after a quick swim I feel that my skin is still well protected so I only reapply it when necessary, but it is important to apply before sun exposure and frequently after swimming, perspiring or toweling to maintain the original protection.

I absolutely love that Eucerin created an anti-aging sun lotion, with a high SPF for the whole body as I’m getting older and terrified of getting any wrinkles and the best way to prevent that from happening faster than usual is to always wear sunscreen. I’m impressed with how lightweight this product is and how well it hydrates my skin especially after spending hours in the pool or ocean, many sunscreens only provide sun protection but don’t also hydrate the skin and having very dry, sensitive skin I always want to use products that add extra hydration to my skin to help prevent any itchiness and flare-ups. I highly recommend the Eucerin Photoaging Control Sun Lotion to anyone concerned with premature aging, who has sensitive skin or who is just looking for an everyday sunscreen.
