Dentyl Dual Action

I would like to introduce you to the prettiest mouthwash that I have ever seen, Dentyl Dual Action. Dentyl Dual Action is a distinctive alcohol-free mouthwash with an advanced two phase formula to fight plaque and freshen breath for up to 12hours. The two phases make Dentyl Dual Action effective yet gentle on the teeth and gums. Simply shake to activate, then swish and rinse. Dentyl Dual Action will lift bacteria and plaque from teeth and gums. For visible proof look in the sink.

Dentyl Dual Action mouthwash must be shaken vigorously before use to mix and activate the advanced formula. There are two phases:

  1. Phase 1- is an Aqua-based antibacterial phase, this is the bottom layer (the bottom layer colour differs according to the variant while the top remains blue). It helps to remove oral germs and bacteria and helps lift plaque off the teeth and gums.
  2. Phase 2- this is the blue layer, it contains Natural Essential Oils that freshens breath and helps to gently moisturise oral tissue.

Because it’s alcohol-free, Dentyl Dual Action doesn’t sting or dry out the mouth. It contains Fluoride to support healthy teeth and gums and is clinically proven to help freshen breath for up to 12 hours.

The Dentyl Dual Action triangular shaped bottle and two layers of colour stand out on the shelves. The product is safely secured with a squeeze and turn cap that can be used as a measuring cup. To use the product you first need to vigorously shake the bottle to mix the two phases and activate the formula, pour  half  a cap measure and rinse for 30seconds by gargling and swishing around the mouth then rinse. It is recommended to use the mouthwash daily without diluting it and for best results, do not eat or drink for 30minutes after rinsing. Use as part of your daily oral care routine as the last step after brushing your teeth for extra fresh breath confidence. You can also use it after eating and before going out for long-lasting fresh breath.

We received two variants Fresh Clove and Smooth Mint. The Fresh Clove is blue and purple in colour, when shaken it transforms to a milky purple colour while the Cool Mint is blue and green in colour and transforms to a milky green colour when shook. Both variants look shimmery when both phases are mixed as if they contain glitter particles which is so pretty to look at and the reason I introduced it as the prettiest mouthwash I’ve ever seen :). I think the Essential Oils creates the shimmer.

The Fresh Clove variant smells strong when you first open the bottle that you expect it to burn but it doesn’t burn the mouth like most mouthwashes do so you can gargle for longer. When you spit it out (rinse) there are purple particles in the sink. The mouthwash leaves my mouth feeling fresh and extra clean without a burning sensation and I can get a slight clove taste at the back of my mouth that’s not overwhelming. I’m sure you all know how overwhelmingly strong clove can be and that burn lasts very long so I was pleasantly surprised that this variant did not burn and sting my mouth.

The Smooth Mint variant has a nice fresh minty scent and taste. It leaves my mouth feeling fresh and clean without the burn. There are green particles in the sink when the mouthwash is spat out. I’m guessing that the formula attaches itself to any remaining plaque and germs from after brushing your teeth or eating and that is what actually comes out. The proof is in the sink! The Smooth Mint is my favourite from the two. I like that the caps are not hard to open as some squeeze and twist caps can be a mission to get open. What I love most about this product is that it doesn’t leave a weird taste in my mouth after rinsing, it is gentle yet effective and the freshness lasts throughout the day but I must admit that I do miss the slight burn.

Dentyl Dual Action is suitable for adults and children six years and older. It comes in four flavours/variants: Fresh Clove; Smooth Mint; Icy Cherry and Icy Mint. The 500ml recommended retail price is R82.95 and is available from Dis-Chem, Clicks, selected Pick n Pay, Checkers, Spar & pharmacies.
