I love makeup products that not only enhance one’s natural beauty but also has skincare benefits. The Yardley London Even Complexion range offers just that, it has merging skin care benefits with makeup effects by treating your uneven skin tone, reducing dark spots and leaving you with an oil-free and luminous finish.
The Yardley London Even Complexion Foundation has become my go-to foundation ever since I tried it last year which you can read about here. I have recently added the Yardley London Even Complexion Pressed Powder to my makeup routine, it works well with the Even Complexion Foundation. Today I will be telling you all about this duo.
Yardley London Even Complexion Foundation
I have reviewed this product last year which you can read about here, since then the packaging of the Yardley London Even Complexion Foundation has changed which I prefer and love!
This foundation is my absolute favourite it is not thin and runny and not too thick and a thin layer gives beautiful even coverage, it has a beautiful dewy finish and feels very comfortable on my skin but I did not like the original packaging as the neck of the bottle broke off which means that I could no longer use the pump (the airless pump stopped working), it’s now very difficult to get the remaining foundation out of the bottle without using the pump and tiny pieces of the plastic bottle found its way into the foundation.
The new packaging of the Even Complexion Foundation is a lot better, it is a 30ml rounded glass bottle which is stronger than the plastic bottle and doesn’t have an airless pump but a normal pump which works well. I haven’t had any problems with the new bottle and the formula of the foundation hasn’t changed it is still amazing.
The Yardley London Even Complexion Foundation is available in 8 shades: Almond, Caramel, Caramel Fudge, Hazel, Mahogany, Medium Beige, Natural and Sand Beige. It retails for R191.62.
Yardley London Even Complexion Pressed Powder
I like to use a pressed powder over my foundation when I feel that my skin is a bit oily especially in summer as my t-zone gets very oily from the heat. A pressed powder is great to use to prevent the face from getting oily or to get rid of any oiliness, it is also perfect to set your foundation to achieve a beautiful flawless finish and to keep your foundation in place the entire day.
The Yardley London Even Complexion Pressed Powder comes in a round silver pan with a clear top so you can see the shade of the powder. I use the shade ‘Caramel Fudge’ which is the same shade as my foundation. The pan opens up to the pressed powder, the pressed powder can be lifted up and underneath there’s a nice round clear mirror and a round flat sponge to use to apply on the powder.
The sponge feels nice and soft and picks up the product well. I however prefer to use a powder brush to apply on the pressed powder as it works better than a sponge, I find that a sponge can remove/absorb the foundation when applying the powder over and doesn’t allow for a smooth application and finish, a powder brush is a lot more hygienic and picks up and spreads more of the product evenly (where as a sponge can absorb the product) giving an even and smoother finish.
The lightweight formula contains oil absorbing powders for a soft, smooth, oil-free and even finish. It is enriched with the powerful antioxidant Vitamin E and like the Even Complexion Foundation, Porcelain Flower Extract. What I love about this product is not only does it work at absorbing oil but it also offers SPF20 protection which helps to protect the skin against further sun damage which is key to preventing uneven skin tone and dark marks.
The Yardley London Even Complexion Pressed Powder works perfectly with the Even Complexion Foundation, the foundation has a beautiful dewy finish and when the powder is applied over it it changes the finish into a nice matte finish. The powder blends effortlessly and perfectly sets my foundation and does not make it look cakey, it feels so light on my skin and has a smooth, flawless, even finish. My skin feels soft to the touch and stays matte and oil-free throughout the day without feeling dry.
The pressed powder offers medium to full coverage. A thin layer of the powder is hardly visible and gives a flawless matte finish but for a heavy coverage more layers can be applied (pigment is buildable). The powder can be used alone or with foundation. The foundation and powder feels and looks so natural on the skin as if no makeup has been applied (perfect to use for a no-makeup makeup look), both are long wearing and do not need to be touched up throughout the day which I love.
The Yardley London Even Complexion range is perfect for someone who battles with dark marks and uneven skin tone that wants even coverage and to treat the pigmentation. The range is not limited to ladies who have uneven skin tone and dark marks but also works for all skin types. The Even Complexion Foundation and Pressed Powder is the perfect every day and all year round duo.
The Yardley London Even Complexion Pressed Powder is available in 6 shades: Caramelised, Caramel Fudge, Almond, Walnut, Mahogany and Translucent. It retails for R191.62.
