Eucerin Tubs

Having eczema is a constant struggle no matter the season. I am always struggling to deal with the itchiness and rashes which leave behind ugly scars. There is no cure all you can do is learn what triggers it and try and avoid those triggers. It helps using the right products for your skin, products which are formulated for dry skin and skin conditions can alleviate the symptoms making it easier and manageable to live with. I swear by Eucerin, they offer products which help restore and sustain skins health.

Generous and regular use of moisturisers, using soap substitutes (not soap-based products), and using barrier creams helps to maintain the skin’s health and prevent the condition from becoming more extreme. Eucerin recently introduced a new range of body creams with a product to suit the varying needs and severity of dry or medically dry skin conditions for adults and children. The three new Eucerin tubs are: Eucerin pH5 Soft Body Cream, Eucerin Original Extra Thick Creme and Eucerin UreaRepair PLUS Body Cream 5% Urea.

Eucerin pH5 Soft Body Cream

Dry sensitive skin is easily irritated by environmental triggers making it even more sensitive. It requires more than a gentle moisturiser to become less sensitive. The pH5 Soft Body Cream is an ideal everyday product providing daily hydration for dry and sensitive skin, helping to regenerate skin’s natural protection properties to help skin become more resilient and less sensitive to environmental triggers.

The Eucerin pH5 Soft Body Cream comes in a 450ml white tub with a red lid. The unique Eucerin pH Balance System contains Citrate Buffer a derivative of Citric Acid that restores and supports skins optimal pH. The formula also includes Dexpanthenol, an active ingredient known for its regenerative properties.

The cream is white in colour and has a slight almost banana scent, it has almost the same scent as the Eucerin Elasticity + Filler Range. The cream is smooth, creamy and thin in texture making it easily spreadable and absorbs quickly. It leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated and does not have a greasy finish. What I love about this cream is that the hydration is long-lasting and my skin doesn’t feel dry and itchy throughout the day which means there is less eczema flare-ups, my skin stays hydrated and moisturised until the next day.

This is my favourite cream from all three and I have since repurchased it.

The Eucerin pH5 Soft Body Cream retails for R179.99.

Eucerin Original Extra Thick Creme

This rich cream helps manage very dry compromised skin conditions associated with eczema, psoriasis or drying medications. This cream is extra rich and thick which works immediately to leave dry, chapped skin feeling intensively moisturised and smooth and it is known to work for 24 hours so that it does not need to be reapplied throughout the day.

The cream contains minimal ingredients which help heal and protect dry, highly sensitive skin. The emollient-rich formula contains two effective moisturising ingredients, Mineral Oil and Petrolatum, to protect the skin’s moisture barrier and to seal in moisture. The Original Extra Thick Creme is a rich water-in-oil formula, non-comedogenic, fragrance free, does not contain any colouring and paraben free to minimise the risk of irritation and allergies.

The cream comes in a 450ml white tub with a red top. This cream is thick in texture and reminds me of the Eucerin Original Crème Originale but it is not as thick (thank goodness). The cream is rich and creamy and because of the thick texture it takes longer to absorb but only a small amount is needed as it spreads quite easily. It has a slight oil finish but doesnt leave the skin feeling uncomfortable and greasy, it leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft and also moisturised and hydrate.

For better results use the cream immediately after bathing or showering while the skin is still damp to lock in moisture. This product is amazing but I feel that it is not hydrating enough for my skin as I have to reapply it throughout the day.

The Eucerin Original Extra Thick Creme retails for R179.99.

Eucerin UreaRepair PLUS Body Cream 5% Urea

I recently reviewed the UreaRepair Range and find that products which contain Urea work best for dry skin conditions as it provides long-lasting moisture and locks in moisture so the skin is hydrated throughout the day. The UreaRepair PLUS range has a 5% Urea lotion so I was excited to try out the cream as creams is what I usually use and it is what I prefer over of lotion.

The UreaRepair PLUS Body Cream 5% Urea contains Urea, Natural Moisturising Factors (NMF’s) which improves the water binding capacity of the skin which results in an increase of moisture content and Ceramides which strengthens the skin’s own protective barrier and ensures that the moisture loss is prevented.

This cream comes in a 450ml tub with a blue lid, the cream is thin in texture just like the lotion which makes it easily spreadable so not a lot is needed and it absorbs quickly. It leaves my skin feeling soft, hydrated and moisturised throughout the day which means that I don’t have to reapply it.

The Eucerin UreaRepair PLUS Body Cream 5% Urea retails for R239.99.

The tubs are convenient for full body application and lasts for a month. It is also safe for the whole family to use.

  1. I love the urea repair for my cracked heels. Also works well on callused feet. The ph5 one is an absolute delight to use. It reduced your chances to end up with an allergic reaction.
