Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift and Nightly Lip Treatment

The Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift and Nightly Lip Treatment are the latest additions to the Dermalogica brand and also form part of my Dermalogica skincare routine. These two innovative products are definitely a must-have in anyone’s skincare regime and today I will be telling you why.

Dermalogica has really become one of my favourite skincare brands as their products work wonders for myself and Moe. They have recently introduced two new products the Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift which is basically an eye masque which I see it as a masque which gives you all the benefits of botox/fillers without having to go under the needle and it is safe to use and the Dermalogica Nightly Lip Treatment which is basically the same for the lips so no botox and lip plumping is needed 😉.

Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift

The Stress Positive Eye Lift is a high-performance eye treatment which energises the skin to reduce visible signs of stress. The active cooling cream-gel masque minimises the appearance of puffiness, dark circles, increases the skin’s luminosity, lifts the eye area and helps restore the skin barrier integrity.

Dermalogica products are formulated without artificial fragrances, colours or parabens which is why my sensitive skin absolutely loves this brand ☺.

How does it work? The Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift contains:

  • Wild Indigo Seed actives: which brightens the skin to visibly reduce under-eye circles.
  • Sea Water Extract and Arctic Algae: counter the look of puffiness.
  • Fermented Yeast and a unique Hyaluronic Acid blend: which firms the skin to help generate a lifting effect.
  • Bioactive Diglucosyl Gallic Acid: works with your skin’s natural microbiome to brighten and energise the eye area.

The Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift comes in a silver and turquoise box which opens up like a peeled banana showing you all the benefits of the product (brightens, lifts, de-puffs and energises) with the 35ml tube in the centre. The tube has a cooling applicator on the end and with just a tiny squeeze the product comes through the applicator.

I apply a generous amount of the product around my eyes using the cooling massage applicator after cleansing and spritzing the ultracalming mist onto my face. I apply three dots under my eye along the cheekbone and above my eye along the brow bone I use the Dermalogica DIY massage technique to intensify results. You can have a look at the technique below.

After using the massage technique I leave it for 3-5 minutes before massaging in any excess product into my skin. During those 3-5 minutes I apply on my Nightly Lip treatment around my lips which I will go into detail in a moment.

The Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift can be used as needed for a quick boost, or daily to address signs of chronic eye fatigue. I use it daily as I get really big bags (not the Louis Vuitton kind) under my eyes and very dark circles around my eyes from lack of sleep.

The texture of the product is not too thick and not too thin (almost mask like), the cream is super hydrating especially in winter, it leaves the skin around my eyes feeling soft and the applicator is cooling and gentle on my skin and works well. I find that this product works wonders as there have been noticeable results, the dark circles around my eyes have lightened up a lot (even Moe noticed) and the bags are not huge anymore.

It is important to know that the Stress Positive Eye Lift is not an eye cream so after massaging the product into the skin it is important to then apply an eye cream. I use the Dermalogica Age Reversal Eye Complex (you can find out more about this product here).

Dermalogica Nightly Lip Treatment

I have always used a small amount of my eye cream around my lip area to help prevent getting wrinkles around my lips. Boy was I excited when I heard that Dermalogica has created a product for the lip area! Finally a brand that has answered my prayers 😃. I no longer have to use my eye cream around my lips as this product helps with everything I was concerned about.

Dermalogica Nightly Lip Treatment smoothes away laugh and feather lines while you sleep so you can say goodnight to lip lines. It contains a rich overnight formula which firms, hydrates and restores skin on and around the lips, it improves skin’s elasticity and helps control ageing before it starts.

As we age, the formation of vertical lines above the upper lip, sagging in the perioral (mouth) region and feathering outside of the lips become more pronounced especially if you have a history of smoking (like Moe).

Though the eyes are often thought to show the first signs of ageing, the lip and mouth area develop some of the most dramatic visible differences (which I have seen a lot in older people).

Many internal and external factors contribute to ageing. Lips lack protective outer layer (strateum corneum) that facial skin has and fewer layers overall (3-5 layers versus the face’s 16). Lips lack composition of oil and sweat glands that provide moisture to other areas of the face. Saliva dries out lips’ natural oils therefore moisture evaporates from the lips faster than the rest of the face contributing to visible lines and feathering.

Ageing in the mouth region can be caused from collagen breakdown from damaging UV rays, trans-epidermal water loss and smoking, drinking through a straw and whistling (even pouting for those Instagram selfies). Overall just using your lips everyday.

To address signs of ageing on and around the lips experts at Dermalogica have created the nightly lip treatment to firm, hydrate and restore skin.

How does it work? The key ingredients are:

  • Indian Gentian Extracts: which helps reduce skin fragility and reduces the appearance of wrinkles around the lips.
  • Volumising Technology: helps to volumise lips and reduce the appearance of fine lines.
  • Sesame Seed Extract: helps smooth and decrease the appearance of nasolabial fold lines (smile/laugh lines), wrinkles and roughness.
  • Shea Butter: increases hydration and improves skin elasticity while restoring the barrier function against visible signs of ageing.
  • Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract and Glycerin Complex: helps enhance skin hydration and smooth lips.

Skin repairs itself during sleep making night time the ideal time to treat and prevent skin ageing.

The Dermalogica Nightly Lip Treatment comes in a silver and blue box containing a 10ml airless pump tube with a cooling metal applicator (like the Stress Positive Eye Lift).

I use the Nightly Lip Treatment after cleansing and spritzing my face with the Ultracalming Mist. I apply three generous dots of the product above and below my lips and massage it into my skin on and around the lip area using the Dermalogica DIY technique. I massage it in using the cooling applicator.

The product is quite thick in texture and has a cooling effect when applied. I find that it absorbs quickly into the skin. It has a peppermint scent (which makes me think of chappies). The applicator works well it is gentle, cooling and soothing on the skin.

I recently did lip swatches of lip products to review and looked at the pictures and thought “wow my lips look full and plump” only realising later that it is a result of the Nightly Lip Treatment. I see results from using the lip treatment, my lips are now fuller, firmer, the skin feels softer on and around the lips and my lips feel hydrated. Im absolutely loving the results.

It is recommended to use the Dermalogica Renewal Lip complex over the lips after applying the lip treatment. I’m loving this combo.

Dermalogica really impresses me every time and using the products daily feels like i’m giving myself a mini facial it really feels luxurious ☺.
