Kangol Eastern Winter

In May Kangol launched the Eastern Winter range which focuses on darker colours, metallic shades on the eyes for a dramatic look, metallic finish nails and softer tinted glossy nude lips. I received two beautiful metallic nail polishes, a stunning metallic eye liner, two perfect nude glosses and two lipsticks a nude with a creamy formula and a stunning matte pink.

As an alternative to black metallic blue can be used to create a smokey eye and the perfect palette to use for this would be the Nocturnal palette with its beautiful dark metallic shades which really pop on the eyes and gives you a mysterious bold look, you can read the full review on the Nocturnal eyeshadow palette here.

Kangol launched five beautiful metallic shades for the nails one which I have reviewed before which you can read about here, from creamy white to royal blue, Kangol metallic nail colours ensure that you have a colour to match any occasion.

Glossy lips are so in right now and Kangol has the perfect lightly tinted and ultra-glossy lip glosses but that does not mean that you have to move away from beautiful dark lips as they too pair perfectly with a smokey eye and is perfect for winter.

Kangol Metallic Nail Polishes

I have always wanted beautiful mirror finish metallic nails and finding a nail polish which can help achieve that look is quite difficult as it states metallic finish but when applied on it looks nothing like metallic. So at first I was quite hesitant when I received the two metallic nail polishes from Kangol as I have so been longing for those mirror finish nails and did not want to be disappointed.

Kangol really mean what they say, their metallic polishes do just that they give the metallic finish that I have longed for without having to spend a fortune to achieve this look at the nail salon.

The two colour which I received are:

  • Dance Shoes: this is such a stunning rose gold colour almost a metallic pink nude which can be used everyday and for every occasion.

  • Moody Blues: is a light blue almost baby blue.

Both are very pigmented, they offer full coverage in just one coat but can look a little streaky so it is best to apply two coats for the ultimate even metallic finish.

These retail for R65.00 each and are available in five colours: Celestial (metallic white) which almost looks silver, Moody Blues, Street Lights (metallic gold), Dance Shoes and Strobe (metallic royal blue) I love this shade!

Kangol Lipgloss Wands

I absolutely love Kangol’s lipglosses as they do not bleed and are not sticky on the lips.

Moonlit Lips

This is a beautiful nude lipgloss which has tiny silver glitter, it applies on sheer, it is not sticky and grainy (which most glosses can be if they contain glitter), it is comfortable on the lips and does not bleed. This can be used on its own for a subtle glossy shiny lip or as a topper over lipstick.

Liquid Drama

When I first seen this shade it got me all excited it’s a stunning pink gloss with pink and golden sparkles and really stands out. This one also applies on sheer but has such gorgeous pink and golden sparkles on the lips when the light hits. It can be used on its own or as a lip topper.

Both glosses have a sweet yummy scent, I like that the wands are thick which means more product. They contain a normal doe foot applicator which works well. These beauties retail for R75.00.

Kangol Lipsticks

I received two beautiful colours in two different finishes:

Speak Easy

This is the perfect nude it matches the colour of my skin tone perfectly and has become the lipstick I use more frequently. It is really the perfect everyday lipstick and pairs perfectly with a bold eye. This lipstick has a creamy texture, it is hydrating, pigmented, offers full coverage in just one application, it’s so smooth, creamy and comfortable on my lips and has a nice scent.

It can be worn alone or used with any of the two mentioned lipglosses. I find that it works well with both glosses but more with ‘Moonlit Lips’.

Cover Charge

This is a stunning matte light pink lipstick, at first I thought that it might be too light for my skin but it actually compliments my skin tone well. Even though this lipstick is matte it has a soft creamy texture, it is long lasting, very pigmented, it offers full coverage in one application and feels very comfortable on. It smells amazing and is not drying on the lips.

It can be worn alone or transformed into a velvet texture when applied with one of the glosses. I find that both glosses pair well with this shade but the ‘Liquid Drama’ gives it a much nicer effect. This shade will look perfect with a winged eye but can also work well with a bold smokey eye and even on its own for just that pop of colour.

The lipsticks retail for R79.00 which is a steal for the great quality that you are getting.

Kangol Kolour Jeepers Peeper Eye Pencil

I love experimenting with different coloured eye pencils. This eye pencil is such a beautiful turquoise shade it almost looks like ‘Moody Blues’ metallic nail polish.

It feels so soft and creamy but be careful it can break when pressed too hard onto the skin. It is pigmented and the colour is definitely buildable for a more intense metallic finish.

This pencil is perfect to apply along the lower lash line, it can also be used to create a winged eye or applied over black winged liner and it can be used as an eyeshadow as it is so smooth and creamy and can be blended with the tip of the finger.

Please excuse my puffy eye in the pictures below I was suffering with allergies that day ☺.

All Kangol products are available exclusively at Truworths Stores nationwide.

Which of these Kangol products will you be getting your hands on ☺?
