Jelly Sandwich Mani

Hi guys, I know it’s late for a mani Monday post but yesterday I recieved a press drop from Essence Cosmetics and was inspired to create a jelly sandwich mani using one of the new Essence jelly nail polishes that I recieved. Essence has new jelly nail polishes which have joined the ‘I ❤ TRENDS’ nail polish range available at Clicks and Dischem stores for R34,95 each. There are pretty shades of pink and orange. I love using the jelly polishes to create jelly sandwich nail art which I will show you how to create ☺

I decided to do little flowers on my nails and glitter polish on my accent nails. I used glitter on the centre of each flower. Make sure the flowers are nicely spread out as you are going to put another layer of flowers to fill in those gaps.

I used Essence twinkling bling bling effect nailpolish in ’16 lovely, maybe’ on my accent nails and in the center of each flower. I created the flowers with a dotting tool from nail candi online store and Essence colour intensifying base gel polish ’33 wild white ways’. I like to use the colour intensifying base gel polish when creating nail art as it is very pigmented and with only one coat you get that intense white.

Once that was dry I applied a coat of The Jellys nail polish in ’29 pink lagoon’ I did not expect it to be so pigmented for a jelly polish 😮. When Essence first came out with a jelly polish I used that to create a jelly sandwich nail art which you can see on my instagram page @bcbalutto,  it was very light so I could apply many layers of my jelly sandwich art. With this colour I could only apply one layer so that you could see the flowers come through.

I waited for the polish to dry then added another layer of flowers filling in the gaps from the previous layer I then sealed it with a top coat and viola! 😃

Jelly sandwich nail art is all about layering nail art so that it comes through each layer of jelly polish. This particular Jelly shade will also look fab on its own without any nail art.

Have you created any jelly sandwich  nail art? If so please send me a picture I would love to see your creation☺
